It has been announced earlier today that Jamie has been cast alongside Kristen Wiig in a new film called Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar which is to be produced by both Gary Sanchez Productions and Lionsgate with them also handling distributions. Jamie will play a character called Edgar and the synopsis via IMDb reads “A pair of best friends find themselves in over their heads.” No other information has been made available yet

Sony Pictures Classics has acquired Benjamin Millepied’s debut feature film “Carmen”, a modern-day reimagining of one of the world’s most celebrated operas that will be headlined by Jamie Dornan and Melissa Barrera, and produced by Dimitri Rassam

Millepied has assembled a strong creative team, including Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz (“Anna in the Tropics”) who is currently finalizing the shooting draft, and Oscar-nominated music composer Nicholas Britell (“Moonlight”, “Vice”) who will compose an original score. Carmen will also feature new songs by Britell and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Julieta Venegas.

Barrera will play the titular role of Carmen. Barrera is currently starring in Warners’ film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights”. Dornan, who is about to star in John Patrick Shanley’s “Wild Mountain Thyme”, will co-star as Aidan

Jamie Dornan (A Private War) and Holliday Grainger (Animals) have been set to star in romance Wild Mountain Thyme from John Patrick Shanley (Doubt) who is adapting his hit Broadway stage play Outside Mullingar.

HanWay will launch sales in Cannes on the project, which is set against the landscapes of rural Ireland. Dornan and Grainger will play obstinate star-crossed lovers, whose families are caught up in a feud over a hotly contested patch of land that separates their two farms. CAA Media Finance is handling North American rights

Pic was developed by Mar-Key Pictures, Likely Story and Port Pictures and is produced by Leslie Urdang (The Seagull), Anthony Bregman (Foxcatcher) with Alex Witchel, and Martina Niland (Once) of Port Pictures. Andrew Kramer will executive produce

The film is due to go into production this summer in Ireland and New York and will feature the song ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’ written by Francis McPeake and Robert Tannahill, covered by artists including George Harrison, Van Morrison, Rod Stewart and more recently Ed Sheeran.

Big Little Lies star Shailene Woodley, 50 Shades of Grey and A Private War star Jamie Dornan, Captain America‘s Sebastian Stan and Criminal Minds veteran Matthew Gray Gubler have been set to lead Drake Doremus’ next movie, which gets underway in Los Angeles this week.

The movie is set in present day Los Angeles and follows Daphne (Woodley), a thirtysomething woman navigating love and heartbreak over the course of one year. During that time, she will unlock the secrets to her life in a sudden turn of events and in the most surprising of places.

“Shailene, Jamie, Matthew and Sebastian are actors at the top of their game and to see this quartet unite for our film, with Drake at the helm, gives us great confidence that we’ll have something very special to deliver to audiences.”

Captain America: Civil War star Anthony Mackie and A Private War star Jamie Dornan are in talks to topline sci-fi thriller Synchronic from The Endless directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.

The pair will play two New Orleans paramedics, whose lives are ripped apart after encountering a series of horrific deaths linked to a designer drug with bizarre, otherworldly effects.

The film is produced by David Lawson Jr., who produced The Endless, along with Benson and Moorhead for Rustic Films. The script is written by Benson. XYZ Films is handling international sales, with XYZ co-repping domestic rights with UTA.

Benson and Moorhead said, “Being huge fans of the nuanced, brilliant work of Anthony and Jamie, this is a filmmaker’s wildest dream come true. They each possess an extraordinary depth of personal experiences, humor, and pathos that brings a massive wellspring of humanity to the battle-scarred partnership being portrayed. We’ve found the perfect collaborators to tell a bold, frightening, heartstring-tugging story.”

The Americans actor Matthew Rhys and 50 Shades Of Grey star Jamie Dornan are to lead the cast in a version of Eugene McCabe’s Death and Nightingales for BBC Two

The drama about love, betrayal, deception and revenge will reunite Dornan with The Fall creator Allan Cubbitt, who will adapt the three-part series and also serve as director

They will be joined by Red Rock star Ann Skelly for the adaption, which is set in the countryside of Fermanagh in 1885 over a tense 24-hour period, when neighbours observe each other and inform

Skelly will play Beth Winters, who is celebrating her 25th birthday and has decided to join the charming Liam Ward (Dornan) and escape from her limited life and difficult and complex relationship with her Protestant landowner stepfather Billy (Rhys)

Dornan said: “I’m thrilled to be reunited with Allan and his brilliant scripts to play such an intriguing character like Liam Ward and to return to Northern Ireland and BBC Two.”

Another exciting new project for Jamie was just announced today by Deadline with the news that he will be joining the expanding cast of Trolls 2. The name of the character he will be voicing has not yet been revealed. The movie is slated for an April 10, 2020 release by Dreamworks

Jamie Dornan, riding high on the $140m global debut of Fifty Shades Freed, will star opposite Sam Clafin in the IRA action thriller Borderland, which IMR International has introduced to EFM buyers here in Berlin.
Brian Kirk (Game Of Thrones, Luther) will direct the 1970s London-set feature, described as being in the vein of Michael Mann’s crime thriller Heat. CAA and UTA Independent Film Group represent US rights.

Borderland will focus on two men on opposite sides of the bloody conflict between the IRA and the British government.

When an IRA operative (Dornan) is dispatched to London to head a new unit and wreak havoc, he uses the move to hunt down the person responsible for the accidental lethal shooting of his wife – an SAS captain (Clafin) who happens to be hunting the Irishman.

Production is scheduled to kick off this summer in London and Dublin.

We finally have the project Jamie teased about a few weeks ago on Magic Breakfasts show with Ronan Keating whilst golfing at Dunhill Links. Filming for it begins in November in London and Jordan

Jamie Dornan has signed on to co-star with Rosamund Pike in the Marie Colvin biopic “A Private War.”

The biopic is produced by Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk and Kamala Films’ Marissa McMahon, as well as Denver & Delilah Films. Erica Lee is the executive producer.
Colvin covered major conflicts across the world — from Chechnya to Sri Lanka, where she lost the sight in her left eye in 2001. Colvin died in 2012 during a rocket attack while covering the Siege of Homs in Syria for the U.K.’s Sunday Times.
Cartel Land helmer Matthew Heineman is directing the movie.

Jamie Dornan, real-life sisters Jemima Kirke (one of the stars of HBO’s Girls) and Lola Kirke (who stars on Amazon’s series Mozart in the Jungle) and Ben Mendelsohn are getting together to star in indie Untogether.

Untogether follows the affair between Andrea (Jemima Kirke), a former teen prodigy turned heroin addict who is trying to be a writer now that she’s sober, and Nick (Dornan), a writer who’s found success with his memoir of war-time bravery, which sees him showered in wealth and women. Meanwhile, Andrea’s little sister, Tara (Lola Kirke), finds her solid relationship with her older boyfriend, Martin (Mendelsohn), shaken when she is drawn to a charismatic rabbi with an even larger age gap.

Emma Forrest will direct from her own screenplay in her feature directorial debut. It’s also the first feature in which the Kirke sisters will appear together. Producers are Scott LaStaiti, Luke Daniels, and Brandon K. Hogan. Executive producers are Jeff Rice, Jeff Elliott, and Chad Moore. Production begins on Oct. 17
